I would like to tell you about an ordinary, but at the same time unusual animal tiger. But this tiger lives only in Russia. This is the Amur tiger. This breed was practically exterminated and listed in the Red Book. Now zoologists, the Russian government have created an action plan to restore this species. Siberian tigers are the largest tigers on the planet, males weigh up to 300 kilograms. Bengal tigers, as a rule, have a maximum size of about 240 kilograms and are shorter than Ussuri tigers. The females of these species are significantly smaller than the males.
Siberian tigers prey on large animals such as elk and deer, and are also known to kill and eat bears and smaller game. The Amur tiger differs in that it has a much thicker, fluffier and warmer coat than the Bengal tiger. They also have a thick fat that helps them stay warm in temperatures below freezing. This is a hardy, beautiful and graceful animal, a symbol of Russian Siberia.
