Dear Jean-Francois,
We finally made it. The first hot-air balloon has been up in the air! We made it from paper and cloth. To make it float, we burned some straw underneath the balloon. The first passengers were a sheep, a duck and a chicken. King Louis XVI and a lot of people watched this first flight. The king has agreed to send men up in the balloon. Would you like to take part in the next flight?
