He was told that the Park was in the mouth of the Volga and that it was one of the oldest and the most beautiful in the country. Peter asked when it had been founded. The guide told him that the National Park had been founded in 1919, and asked if Peter wanted to visit it at the weekend. Peter answered that he would go with great pleasure and would take pictures of the unique species of flora and fauna of Astrakhansky Region. He said he had always wanted to see a lotus – the most beautiful miracle flower growing at the mouth of the Volga.
