Play the chant on the cassette/CD. Children listen and look at the illustrations. During the second listening, hold up your book and point to the items mentioned in the chant, encouraging children to join in. Play the chant as many times as you feel is necessary.Chant

And go to school! - Repeat the chant without the cassette/CD. Hold up your book and get the children to follow the picture and repeat after you. Then point to the items and keep the rhythm by clapping your hands or snapping your fingers. Children chant by themselves with the help of the picture.
Variation:
Draw simple sketches or pin up pictures of pencils, pens, books, schoolbag, pencil case on the board in the order they are mentioned in the chant. Point to them and say the chant. The children repeat after you. Then, point to the sketches/pictures and invite the children to reproduce the chant.
