They waited for history to begin ~ They lived in prehistoric times.
They ate what stumbled right in front of them. They ate what they could find, and didn’t grow any kind of fruit or vegetables specifically.
Unlike their posh relatives in the south of France and Spain they didn’t even try to cheer up their caves by painting… In the caves of prehistoric people in the British Isles wall paintings were not found.
