The means of transport in Russia depends on the terrain. It is very different for cities and towns, for villages, countries and etc. Most people prefer to travel by car if the distance is not far. In large cities, the most commonly used modes of transport are public transport: buses, trams, metro, taxis, and so on. In small towns and villages, people are more likely to walk or ride bicycles. But, if the Russians go on a journey, then they prefer airplanes.
