Королева и парламент
Достаточно трудно понять Британский способ управления страной. В Британии королева глава государства, но на самом деле королева символ истории страны и её традиций. Она очень богата. Она ездит по королевству, встречается с людьми и посещает школы, больницы и другие места. Так поступают все члены королевской семьи: муж королевы, её сын принц Чарльз, дочь королевы принцесса Анна и принцесса Маргарет.
В начале столетия много стран по всему миру управлялись Британией. Все они входили в Британскую Империю и были её колониями. Индия, Пакистан, Цейлон, например, были среди них. The Queen of Britain is the head of the country but in fact she doesn’t rule the country. The Queen travels a lot all over the country. She is the symbol of the country history, its traditions.
The British Parliament consists of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The members of the House of Lords are not elected. These members are permanent. But members of the House of Commons are elected.
The state power in the UK belongs to the government and to the parliament. Though the head of the state is the Queen, she doesn’t rule the country.

The head of the United Kingdom is the Queen but in fact, she doesn’t rule. At the beginning of the 20th century Britain had a lot of colonies. But now these countries are independent states. And in 1949 Britain founded the Commonwealth. The power belongs to the British Parliament and to the British Government. The British Parliament consists of two “Houses”: The House of Lords and the House of Commons. The members of the House of Lords are not elected. They are permanent. The members of the House of Commons are elected. The British people elect 650 members of the House of Commons every five years.
